School Council

Each class has 2 councillors and our job is to listen to our friends in our class council meetings and put forward ideas at the school council meetings. We meet with Miss Noon two times each half term and she listens to our ideas.

We have made changes in our school.

• We have helped to choose playtime equipment.
• We chose the rules for our new playground.
• We suggested new books to add to the library.
• We are helping to plan the new garden.

We also take part in meetings with other schools. We have been to a Student Voice Conference at Queen Elizabeth High School and have visited Corbridge Middle School on a “Learning Walk” This year we will be taking part in a Student Voice Conference about “The Sustainable School.”

PTA

At Hexham East we have a very active PTA. It is led by Sonia (Tom and Finns mum) and  Jane ( Ellas mum.) They have many fund raising events during the year including the Christmas Fair, school disco, chocolate bingo and Summer fair. The PTA is currently paying half the cost of the bus fair for school trips.
